How to Tie Your Belt
As you study martial arts, you will tie your belt more times than you can count.  It rapidly  becomes habit and is easy.
The best way to learn is to have a senior student show you how.  Please ask.  We are here to help.  Below are some
notes to aid you.

  1. Hold belt at its center, ends even.
  2. Place center of belt on front center of gi jacket (uniform top), about one inch below the naval. Wrap belt
around your waist.  Arrange the cloth so there is only one visible layer of cloth (not an 'x' in back).  The end that
comes out on the left should be on top.
  3. Pull ends of belt forward and adjust so the ends are even.
  4. Slide the left side of the belt under and behind all the belt layers.
  5. Loop the right side of the belt in front of you.
  6. Loop the left end under and up through the U shape to form a knot.
  7. Pull ends of belt outward to tighten knot.
  8. Adjust knot so the ends of belt are even and hang neatly
